Services
Are You Okay?™
Westlake Police Department works in conjunction with the Westlake Center for Community Services to manage the senior home check calling service "Are You Okay?"
Block Watch
Our department offers a Block Watch program that teaches residents how to effectively monitor their neighborhoods for any suspicious or illegal activities.
Child Safety Fingerprinting
Our officers and trained civilian personnel provide child fingerprinting services at special events, schools, hospitals and other locations throughout Westlake as a free public service.
Child Safety Seat Check
Several members of our department have completed necessary courses and are qualified to check the installation of child safety seats.
Civilian Fingerprinting
Several Westlake Police Department officers and civilian personnel are trained as part of the Civilian Fingerprint Program.
Community Collection Drives
Westlake Police Department participates in a host of charitable community programs throughout the City, including the annual Coats for Kids Campaign, various food collection drives, and other special-needs collections.
Community Service Officers
Community Service Officers (CSOs) provide support to the Patrol Division, managing duties such as auto lockouts, child seat inspections, bailiff duty, and directing traffic at accidents or during power outages.
Crime Prevention Assessments
Westlake residents can schedule to have their homes assessed using Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) concepts. The use of these concepts has been shown to lead to a reduction in the incidence and fear of crime and an improvement in the quality of life.
Operation Medicine Cabinet
Operation Medicine Cabinet provides a drop off box for non-liquid prescriptions and over-the-counter medications. The box can be found at the Westlake Police Department, to the right of the front entrance.
Vacation House Watch
Westlake residents are encouraged to notify the Police Department when they will be away on vacations, so that uninhabited homes (for either short or long durations) can be watched.
Surveillance Camera Mapping Project
Register your home or business surveillance camera to the Cuyahoga County Surveillance Camera Mapping Project.
