Message from the Chief
The officers and staff of the Westlake Police Department are proud to serve the residents and businesses of Westlake. We provide 24-hour law enforcement and emergency services to all persons living, working or visiting the city. In addition to traditional police responsibilities such as accident and crime investigation, Westlake officers engage in a wide variety of community policing activities.
We are committed to improving the quality of life in our city and have found the best way to make Westlake safer is to partner with citizens and build understanding.
I invite you to familiarize yourself with the many events and programs we offer. This website offers a glimpse into the values and practices which drive our personnel. The men and women of the Westlake Police Department serve this community with distinction, and look forward to demonstrating our commitment to public safety.

ODJFS tool allows unemployment fraud to be reported online
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has launched a new tool which allows victims of fraud related to unemployment compensation to report these crimes directly to the State of Ohio rather than contacting local law enforcement.
Data provided by fraud victims then can be tracked and crossmatched with existing Unemployment Insurance (UI) and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) data to help investigators in their efforts to find the perpetrators. To report unemployment fraud, visit the ODJFS website at www.unemployment.ohio.gov, click the “REPORT IDENTITY THEFT” link and complete the form that appears.
