Dispatchers
Duties
Dispatchers for the Westlake Police Department serve as the vital link between citizens and public safety agencies, handling routine and emergency calls 24/7. Our dispatchers are the main hub of information for various departments, providing officers in the field with necessary information obtained through internal and external resources and databases. From warrant files and missing person reports, to driving infraction reports and criminal histories, dispatchers gather data that department personnel require to do their jobs.

Our dispatchers also serve as a resource for citizens needing assistance with issues that range from removing an unwanted animal to needing the location of a 24-hour drug store. This information flows quickly and efficiently through the dispatcher, all while monitoring phones, radios and computers for additional calls and requests.
Power Outages
A common call received during storms are from residents asking when their power will be restored. Our dispatchers do not have this information and refer the caller to FirstEnergy.
To report a power outage, get updates on its restoration and other helpful information, visit FirstEnergy's Power Outage webpage or call 888-LIGHTSS (888-544-4877).
