Auxiliary Police Unit

Value of the Auxiliary
Volunteer service to the community has its rewards-and those rewards are the drive behind the Westlake Auxiliary Police Unit. Realizing the value of what they do, and enjoying it, too, the unit assists police officers by attending to less-urgent issues that would otherwise keep officers from the important job of law enforcement.

The Auxiliary Unit:

  • Assists in weather-related emergencies

  • Directs traffic at automobile accidents and community events

  • Patrols City facilities

  • Performs other duties

  • Provides supplemental patrols on weekends

The City of Westlake maintains a first rate Auxiliary Police Unit that is well equipped and well trained. Auxiliary Unit members are a diverse group with one common thread: they share a steadfast commitment to service.
