School Resource Officers
Responsibilities
The Westlake Police Department maintains a high level of visibility in the school community. Officer Scott Fortkamp serves as the School Resource Officer atWestlake High Schoolwhere he maintains an office and has an open-door policy for all students and staff.
Officer Fortkamp conducts a Behavior Improvement Program and is seen walking the halls and visiting classrooms. He also attends after-school activities such as dances and sports events.

Officer Keenan Cook serves as the School Resource Officer at Lee Burneson Middle School and provides the same services to middle school students as offered at the high school. He runs the DARE program.
The Westlake Police Department's new program to have additional officers assigned to work solely in the schools will help WPD assure the safety and security in the schools as well as our commitment to build and maintain relationships with the youth of our community and their families. Beginning with the 2018-2019 academic year, Officer Pat Foye is joining Officer Cook at Lee Burneson Middle School and Officer Ted Morley is assigned to Dover Intermediate School.
