Furniture, Mattresses and Box Springs

Mattresses, box springs and upholstered furniture (couches, chairs, etc.) must be wrapped in plastic due to health reasons. Plastic bags/wrap can be purchased at local storage facilities or hardware stores. (scroll down for photo of properly wrapped furniture)

Carpeting

Rolled and tied into 4-foot long sections, separate from padding, not to exceed 50 pounds.

Household Appliances / Appliances Containing Freon

Place old appliances at the curb. All refrigerators and freezers must have doors removed, per City Code 521.01. Refrigerators, air conditioning units, de-humidifiers, and refrigerated water coolers are collected separately from other large household items. 

Basketball Poles, Tables and Swing Sets

Must be dismantled, cut into 4-foot long sections, and bundled. Must be less than 50 lbs. (See miscellaneous items below for other wooden items)

Gutters and Downspouts

Cut into 4-foot lengths and bundled. Must be less than 50 lbs.

Tires

Tires are no longer accepted with rubbish collection. Residents should dispose of old tires through their tire retailer at the time of purchase of new tires.
