Community Garden
The University Hospitals St. John Medical Center/City of Westlake Community Garden is a collaborative effort between the City and the Hospital. Not only do the 48 plots give residents the opportunity to grow fresh produce for their families but some have provided part of their harvest to the Community Services Food Pantry. We are grateful for their generosity.
The adjacent photos are from the annual workday in the spring and the blessing ceremony in the summer in 2017.
Reserving a Garden Plot
Email Cindi Lindgren is the contact for the collaborative community garden and will answer resident’s questions and take reservations for garden plots.
The Garden continues to flourish. Plot owners donated items from their bounty several times throughout the year to the Harvest Program to provide fresh produce to our Food Pantry. These donations allowed several Westlake residents in need the opportunity to have fresh vegetables on their tables.
All plots are currently reserved with a waiting list for those Westlake residents who are hoping to secure a spot at this wonderful collaborative effort between University Hospitals/SJMC and the City of Westlake. We continue to thank both the hospital and the Service Department for their combined efforts to keep this garden up and running.
