[ARCHIVED] Westlake Students Graduate D.A.R.E. Program

Mayor Dennis Clough, Police Chief Kevin Bielozer and a host of Westlake City School District officials recognized graduates of the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program at Dover Intermediate School on Friday, Feb. 28. The students took turns at the podium sharing essays describing the lessons they learned about how good decision-making skills can help them avoid involvement in drugs, gangs and violence.


D.A.R.E Overview

Westlake Police Department administers Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) using uniformed officers to deliver key prevention messages to students in elementary through high school. Our officer instruct DARE in the Westlake City Schools, as well as 2 private schools. The instruction begins in the third grade and continues in fifth, seventh and tenth grades.
