At the Westlake Recreation Department, our Games Pathway offers a delightful way for community members to come together, enjoy friendly competition, and engage in social fun. From classic card games to strategic board games, our pathway provides an array of opportunities for everyone to play, connect, and enjoy.

Featured Games in Our Pathway:

  • Pinochle: A classic card game that's as much about strategy as it is about socializing. Join our group of friendly players every Monday afternoon for a fun and engaging game. Newcomers are always welcome!
  • Chess: Test your strategic thinking and make new friends with our Chess games. Held on Tuesdays and Fridays, these sessions offer friendly competition in a welcoming environment. Players of all levels are invited to drop in and join the fun.
  • Ping Pong: Enjoy the fast-paced excitement of Ping Pong every Friday. It's a great way to stay active, improve hand-eye coordination, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow players. Free to play, just call to reserve or use MyActive Center by one day prior.
  • Bingo for Fun: Get ready for Bingo! A timeless game that’s perfect for those looking to enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere while trying their luck.

Upcoming Events


CHAIR VOLLEYBALL 

Come join in the fun and friendly competition that includes exercise which enhances your muscle tone, reflexes, hand-to-eye coordination, and endurance. The game is played with a beach ball and a five-foot-high net. Rules are similar to regular regular volleyball but you will need a cheek on the chair. 

Mondays, 1:00 pm. (Not 12/25) FREE. Call to reserve or use MyActive Center by one day prior to each date. 


PUZZLE EXCHANGE 

On the 2nd Wednesday of each month we are holding a puzzle exchange. Bring your old puzzles to exchange with someone else’s puzzle. If you do not have a puzzle feel free to come anyway! 

Wednesdays, November 8 and December 6, 9:00-11:00am. 


MEMORY LANE HOLIDAY TRIVIA 

The North Olmsted Senior Center will host a holiday themed trivia sponsored by Memory Lane Trivia. All area senior centers are welcome to send a group of 6 players per table or individuals may sign up to join an existing group for friendly competition, light refreshments and prizes for the winners. 

Wednesday, November 29, 1:30pm. FREE.

LAKE ERIE BRIDGE 

You and your bridge partner are invited to join any of our 40 bridge groups playing at area restaurants. Our Westlake Community Center group is specifically for players looking to find a bridge partner. In this group players have a new partner each day of play. Hopefully, some of these pairings will “click” and form new partnerships. Groups are 4-6 tables. Fall groups play once a month (Sept.-May). Please contact Stephanie Policy (apolicy@aol.com) for information on all the offerings. (Please put “bridge” in the subject line.) 

Tuesday, November 7 and December 5, 11:00am—2:30pm. If new, register with Stephanie before date attending. Sorry no walk-ins. 


DOMINOS- MEXICAN TRAIN 

Do you enjoy playing Mexican train? Now’s your chance and it’s not hard! Come play with friends. Bring snacks or purchase some from the café to enjoy while you play. 

Tuesdays, November 14 & 28, and December 12 & 26,10:00-11:30am. FREE. Call to reserve or use MyActive Center by one day prior. 


PINOCHLE 

Have experience playing pinochle? This group of friendly players welcomes you to join the fun. 

Mondays, 1:00-4:00pm. (Not 12/25) 


CHESS 

Friendly competition between friends – come join in the fun—new players always welcome! 

Tuesdays, and Fridays, 1:00-4:00.  Just drop in. (Not 11/24 & 12/22) 


MAHJONG 

Looking for a group to play with and have prior knowledge of the game? This group does accept new players who are familiar with the game. 

Tuesdays, 1:00-4:00pm. Just drop in prior to start time. 


PING PONG 

Enjoy the friendly camaraderie of a game. 

Fridays, 1:00 pm. Free. Call to reserve or us MyActive Center by one day prior so we know to set up the table. (Not 11/24 & 12/22) 


BINGO FOR FUN 

We will be calling Bingo for Fun and giving prizes to the winners. A boxed or bagged lunch will be given out at the end of the event for you to enjoy. (Sponsored by St. Mary of the Woods) 

Friday, November 30, 10:00am; Cost $4; payable by one week prior to each date. (No December date.) 


MUSIC BINGO AND CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST 

This Bingo is exciting and fun using familiar music of the Big Band, Golden Oldies, Crooners and 50’s & 60’s theme songs. 

Wednesdays, November 8 and December 6, 10:00am. Cost: $4; payable by one week prior to each date.
