Youth Basketball League

Welcome to the Youth Basketball Leagues at the Westlake Recreation Department, where youngsters learn the fundamentals of basketball and experience the joy of the game. Our programs are tailored to offer a blend of skill development, teamwork, and, most importantly, fun!

League Highlights:

• Skill Development: Focused on teaching the basics of basketball, our programs are perfect for young players to learn and enhance their skills in dribbling, shooting, passing, and team play.
• Fun-Centered Approach: We believe in the power of play. Our games are designed to be fun, allowing youngsters to experience the excitement of playing basketball in front of family and friends in a supportive environment.
• Inclusive and Fair Play: To ensure a balanced and inclusive experience, we do not honor requests for specific team placements or to play with friends. This policy encourages wider social interaction and fair play.
• No Travel Team Participation: In keeping with our focus on recreational play and equal opportunity, children who participate in CYO Travel or Interscholastic teams are not eligible for this league, ensuring equal playing time and development for all.
