The Westlake Recreation Department is proud to host the WHS Swim Team, where dedication meets the water, and every lap counts. Starting on Friday, October 27, 2023, we invite aspiring swimmers to become part of a tradition of excellence that extends both within and beyond the city of Westlake.
Training for Excellence:
- Regular Practice: Rigorous training sessions are held Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 6:00 pm in our Lap Pool and Diving Well, the crucible where strength and technique are forged.
- No School, No Problem: When school is not in session, practices shift to a morning routine from 9:00 to 11:30 am, making the most of every opportunity to improve.
- Facility Availability: Please note that these pools are dedicated to the swim team during these times and will be closed to the public until the end of February 2024.
Upcoming Swim Meets:
The true test of training is competition. Our team will participate in a series of swim meets against other high schools, showcasing the skill and spirit of our swimmers:
- December 8: Meet against Rocky River HS
- December 27: Competition at Avon Lake HS
- January 5: Face-off with Bay Village HS
- January 12: Challenge Elyria Catholic HS
During the days of swim meets, the pools will close at 4:00 pm to facilitate these events.
